The article has quoted former Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Keshav Varma as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Global Tiger Initiative Council (GTIC) saying that the proposed road will kill Corbett tigers.

“The Global Tiger Forum is an inter-governmental organisation of tiger range countries, and does not hold any view on issues which are of sovereign nature to a tiger range country. The GTF was neither contacted nor has taken any position on the Kandi road. The views of Varma are personal, and he is the CEO of another organisation – the Global Tiger Initiative Council in United States,” said Rajesh Gopal, secretary general of the forum.

GTIC is a United States based organization and Global Tiger Forum is its implementing partner. The error is regretted.
