A nine-year-old boy from Delhi has drowned in a hotel swimming pool at the popular Calangute beach village in Goa.
A nine-year-old boy from Delhi has drowned in a hotel swimming pool at the popular Calangute beach village, a police official said on Thursday.

The incident occurred late on Wednesday night, said Jivba Dalvi, the officer in-charge of Calangute Police Station, adding that the victim was holidaying in Goa along with his parents.
“We have booked and lodged a case against the resort management under section 304-A (negligence) of the Indian Penal Code for the negligent manner in which they maintained the swimming pool by not providing any pool attendant or life guard there,” Dalvi told reporters in Panaji.
The boy had wandered into the pool without the knowledge of his parents, he said. The body was handed over to the parents on Thursday after post-mortem examination, Dalvi said, ruling out any foul play.
