Goa hotel owner from Delhi killed over rented motorcycle

According to police, Vishwajit Singh, who ran Hotel Royal Mirage in the coastal village of Candolim along with his brother Abhijit, was killed with knives.

A 41-year-old native of Delhi, who ran a hotel in Goa, was murdered on Monday night following a dispute over a rented motorcycle, police said.

According to police, Vishwajit Singh, who ran Hotel Royal Mirage in the coastal village of Candolim along with his brother Abhijit, was killed with knives.

“From the analysis of CCTV footage and statements of the eyewitnesses, it could be ascertained that two persons were involved. The main accused was identified and eventually, his location was traced to Gadag in Karnataka,” Chandan Choudhary, superintendent of police (North Goa) said.

Police arrested Umesh Rathod, who was also Singh’s employee for the last three years, and Dayashankar from Gadag with the help of Karnataka Police.

Singh was unmarried and was living in an apartment in Candolim in the vicinity of his hotel. He was murdered in the basement of his apartment block at Candolim between 1.30am and 2am on Tuesday.
