Man arrested for several cases of robbery, snatching

The police identified the man as Karan Dutta, of Jagatpuri.

The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested a man for his involvement in several cases of snatching and robbery in east and south Delhi. The police said the man was arrested after an exchange of fire, in which the suspect was shot in the leg.

“On Thursday, we received information that Dutta will come near a shopping mall around 8.30pm. A raiding team took position near the mall. When Dutta was spotted, the team signalled him to stop, but he tried to flee. The team managed to intercept him,” additional deputy commissioner (east) AK Lal, said.

After an exchange of fire, Dutta was overpowered, and taken to to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital,” the officer said.
