Police said, the mother-son duo was stabbed to death for allegedly asking the accused to return a sum of ₹25,000 which he had borrowed from them.

The deceased woman was identified as 45-year-old Beena and her son Ravi alias Lucky (27). According to the police, the incident came to light when Beena’s sister tried to contact her on Saturday but did not get a response. The woman then tried calling Ravi, who also did not respond. She then arrived at her sister’s house and found the house locked from inside.

“When she asked the neighbours, no one claimed to have seen Beena or her son Ravi.She then called the police and they, along with the neighbours, broke open the door of the house. After entering the house, we found Ravi’s body in the bathroom while Beena’s was found stuffed inside the bed box,” said a senior police officer.

“During probe, we found that Beena had lent money to a man who was her son’s friend. He was identified as Ankit Kumar, who we nabbed from Nand Nagri,” the officer said.
