Snatcher involved in 50 cases arrested
Police said the accused used a sports bike to flee after snatching chains.
The police on Sunday arrested a 25-year-old man involved in at least 50 cases of chain snatching and vehicle thefts in Dwarka. Police said Pramod Kumar, a Ranhola resident, who used a sports bike for snatching chains.

Police recovered two bikes that he used to flee from the spot after snatching valuables of pedestrians in Dwarka and nearby neighbourhood.
Deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said that they learnt about Kumar during a special drive to curb street crime. “CCTV footage from various locations in Dwarka were analysed and profile of possible suspects were verified. On Sunday, information was received that an autolifter from Naveen Dogra gang, who is a possible suspect in many such criminal cases, will come to Matiyala on a stolen bike. A trap was then laid and the suspect, later identified as Pramod Kumar, was arrested,” the DCP said.
Alphonse said, during interrogation, Kumar told them that he had planned to revive the gang after Dogra’s death.
On Thursday, he stole one high speed motorcycle to be able to escape from crime scene after snatching chains.
