NEW DELHI: A 68-year-old litigant suffered a heart attack and died on Thursday while he was standing in queue for getting an entry pass to Delhi High Court’s reception area.

The senior citizen, Suresh Nayyar, was rushed to RML Hospital after he collapsed, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to advocate Ashok Aggarwal, the incident took place around 10.15am when Nayyar was waiting in queue for obtaining an entry pass to the court for a property dispute case.
Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) secretary Abhijat said: “The incident was unfortunate. The bar association will, with the help of the high court administration, put up boards informing litigants that emergency medical facilities are available within the court premises.”
Abhijat said the police officers could have rushed the senior citizen to the high court’s dispensary, which is run by the Delhi government, for immediate medical attention.
“It is surprising that the police authorities did not show presence of mind,” he said.
“Whenever such an incident has occurred in the past, immediate medical attention has been provided. It is certainly a wake-up call,” Abhijat said.
Delhi government dispensary at the high court has facilities such as general OPD, pathology lab, ultrasound, X- Ray, eyes and ortho, physiotherapy, ENT (ear, nose, throat), ECG (electrocardiogram), dental and ayurvedic and homeopathic departments.
