Lamba had tweeted the video, tagging the Delhi police with a message that she was apprehensive she would be booked for sending this video.

The incident took place at 2pm when Lamba was out for an AAP event and filmed the encroachments and the public drinking.

“There is usually so much traffic hassle due to encroachments and people gambling and drinking openly on the road. Writing letters goes in vain but social media is a powerful platform to address issues,” said Alka Lamba.

Thanking the commissioner for his swift response, Lamba said she wants to bring issues of child abduction, alcohol abuse and acid attacks to light.

Within a few hours of her posting the tweet, she got a reply from the deputy commissioner, informing her of the action.

“Four of them have been arrested for public drinking. Others warned and area kept under watch,” tweeted DCP (north) Madhur Verma.
