10 new dengue cases in Delhi take tally to 98

Ten new dengue cases were confirmed in the capital on Wednesday, taking the total number of people affected by the mosquito-borne disease to 98, an official said.

"Ten people have tested positive for dengue in Delhi today (Wednesday). In the last 24 hours, we have recorded 10 new dengue cases in the capital. The total number of dengue cases has risen from 88 to 98," a municipal corporation of Delhi statement said.

One dengue death -- that of nine-year-old Tabbasum Khan, who died on last Friday -- has been reported in the capital.

In 2011, there were 216 cases of dengue in the capital and three deaths.
