Police said the boy had been employed there for the past four years and had not been allowed to meet his parents in UP.
It was the businessman’s neighbour who tipped off the police about the child. The 12-year-old was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Monday which has directed the police to lodge a FIR against his employer.
The child told the CWC that he used to do all the household work and was beaten up by his employer on many occasions. “His employer never allowed him to talk to his mother on phone. He doesn’t even know if his salary reaches his parents or not. He told a driver of the locality that he wants to go back home. This driver told his employer about the child, who in turn informed the police,” a senior police officer said. htc
