Three men have been arrested on charges of raping a minor in Haibatpur jungles near NH-24 in Ghaziabad. The fourth accused is still absconding.

Police said the 16-year-old victim was returning home from a mall on Sunday afternoon when her neighbour Anil Yadav, who is one of the accused, offered to drop her home in his Hyundai Accent car.

Police said the minor did not suspect anything and went with him towards her house in Vijaynagar.

"However, Yadav drove to Haibatpur jungle area where he called up three of his friends. The four men then raped the victim inside the car taking turns and then left her after the incident," Superintendent of Police (SP) A.K. Vijeta said.

The victim told her parents about what had happened once she reached home.

The family then lodged a case against Anil Yadav, Pravesh Goswami, Naresh Yadav and Babu Yadav.

"The three accused were arrested on Tuesday while Babu Yadav is still absconding. We have produced the accused in the court and have begun a search for the fourth accused," the SP said.

The victim’s family refused to speak to media.

Police said all the four accused are married and in the age group of 25-30 years and are residents of Sarafabad area in Noida.
