Sources in the Delhi police said inputs have been shared with the Special Cell of Delhi police and all districts have been asked to remain vigilant. The alerts came on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the September 13 Delhi serial blasts in which 26 people were killed and 123 others were critically injured in five back-to-back bomb blasts at four different spots in the Capital in 2008.
Though senior Delhi police officer said such inputs are received ahead of any important event, security has been beefed up.
"The inputs say that there could be a bomb blast in the Capital to avenge the infamous September 19, 2008, Batla House shootout in which two alleged Indian Mujahideen terrorists were gunned down by a team of the Special Cell," said a senior police officer adding that Inspector Anti Terrorist Officers (ATOs) of all the police stations have been directed to intensify patrolling in sensitive areas and check entry and exit points of the city.
