The boy was sleeping beside his mother in the hospital corridor. Around 4am, his mother went to the washroom but when she returned, she found that her son was missing.

Moradabad resident Mohammad Sadiq had come to Delhi along with his wife Zarina Khatoon and their three children on July 13 for his elder son Shahid’s treatment. His son was admitted in Ward number 12 of the hospital.

“Khatoon realised that her 4-year-old son Faizan was missing when she returned from the washroom and went looking for him. When she couldn’t locate him, she approached the hospital authority,” a senior police officer said.

Police said the corridor where Khatoon was sleeping with her child is not covered with CCTV cameras. Police are questioning the guards on duty if they saw anyone enter the premises.

“The boy’s father was with his ailing son in the ward. The family has provided us details of the missing boy,” a senior police officer said.
