55-year-old jeweller shot in Shastri Park

A 55-year-old jeweller was gunned down by a gang of unidentified assailants on Thursday in northeast Delhi’s Shastri Park. HT reports.

A 55-year-old jeweller was gunned down by a gang of unidentified assailants on Thursday in northeast Delhi’s Shastri Park. Scores of traders blocked traffic and demonstrated in the area.

“The victim has been identified as Ramgopal Verma. The incident occurred at 8:45pm when he was returning home,” said a police officer.

Verma was shot twice by four masked men on foot, metres away from his residence in Shastri Park’s F-block. He ran a shop Monu Jewellers in E-block. A case of murder has been registered.
