A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unidentified person in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area on Sunday evening, police said.

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unidentified person in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area on Sunday evening, police said. The incident was reported to the police immediately after the victim, a student of Class 3 at a private school, was raped around 8 pm.

“The victim informed her family about the incident who in turn rushed her to the Sultanpuri police station where a written complaint was lodged after a medical examination,” said a senior police officer.

After preliminary inquiries, female officers took the victim to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for medical examination where sexual assault was confirmed.

“We have registered a case of rape, ascertained the alleged accused person’s description and are looking for him. Teams have been formed to nab him and further investigations are on,” the officer added.
