AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan arrested in sexual harassment case
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested by the Delhi Police on Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault case filed by his sister-in-law.
AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested by Delhi Police on Wednesday afternoon on charges of sexual harassment. This is the second time he has been arrested in the last three months.

Khan was reportedly called to the DCP office for questioning, following which he was placed under arrest.
“He was asked to join the investigation after his sister-in-law alleged that she was sexually harassed by him. He was arrested after a thorough round of questioning,” DCP, southeast, MS Randhawa said.
Khan’s relative alleged that he had pressured her to get into a physical relationship with him. She also complained that her husband allegedly demanded dowry and forced her to do as Khan asked.
Following her complaint, a case of sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, insulting the modesty of a woman and subjecting a woman to cruelty was registered against Khan and his brother.
Khan had denied the charges and said that he has “no connection with the woman at all”.
The arrest came three days after Khan reached the Jamia Nagar Police station on Sunday to surrender but the police refused to arrest him. He had accused the police of working “under pressure” to arrest him and said they didn’t do so fearing a backlash from the public, a charge rubbished by senior officials.
A few hours before his relative pressed sexual harassment charges against him, the Okhla MLA had resigned from the post of Waqf Board chairman citing conspiracy. T
he AAP government, however, refused to accept it and said the resignation was given in pain. Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia had said that an internal inquiry revealed that it was a family dispute, which was being given a political colour.
In July, Khan was sent to 14-day judicial custody after being arrested in a molestation case.
He was arrested by the police on July 24 for allegedly threatening a woman with rape and murder. The woman, who had gone to his house to discuss the issue of power cuts, had alleged Khan’s men stalked her and threatened to kidnap her children. She also claimed that Khan tried to run her over with his car. Khan had denied the charges and called it a conspiracy to frame him in “false” cases. Khan is presently out on bail in the case.
Earlier this month, former AAP minister Sandeep Kumar was arrested after a woman alleged that she was drugged, raped and secretly filmed about a year ago by the Delhi lawmaker. He was sacked by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over the sex scandal.
