This episode of Tell Me Why looks at how police barricades, Central Park’s closure and detentions disrupted a planned Tiranga Yatra in Delhi’s Connaught Place. Cockroach Janata Party leader Abhijeet Dipke and student leaders were detained as authorities cited public-order concerns and restrictions on protest locations. Government leaders alleged attempts to destabilise the administration, while protesters raised questions about space for peaceful dissent. The report also examines the cost and accessibility of designated protest grounds, smaller gatherings across Connaught Place and online mobilisation. Against this backdrop, election transparency remains central, including the reported decision to provide readable electoral-roll PDFs following demands from protesters seeking reforms.
