Abu Hamza arrest an achievement, says government

The government on Tuesday described the arrest of 2008 Mumbai terror attack suspect Abu Jindal Hamza as an "achievement" and hailed the deportation of the alleged terrorist from Saudi Arabia.

The government on Tuesday described the arrest of 2008 Mumbai terror attack suspect Abu Jindal Hamza as an "achievement" and hailed the deportation of the alleged terrorist from Saudi Arabia.

"The arrest is an achievement of India," ministry of external affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin told reporters in New Delhi, replying to their queries on the arrest.

Hamza, 30, was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on June 21 after his deportation from Saudi Arabia.

Akbaruddin also appreciated the efforts of Saudi Arabia in deporting the terror suspect and said ties between Riyadh and New Delhi had always been strong and robust.
