Their arrest led police to the AIIMS link. According to the gang, these officials provided them fake medical certificates to help get parole for ganglord Sharafat Sheikh presently lodged in Tihar. "We found a few medical certificates from Kuldeep Singh alias Sonu's Honda Accord car after the encounter. After investigations we were able to establish a few officials at AIIMS were involved in providing these fake certificates," said a senior police officer who, did not want to be quoted.
Significantly, Sheikh got parole for 10 days with the help of such cerificates last November. It was during this time he planned future crimes with his cronies.
