The pilot of this trainee aircraft Captain YS Brar reportedly took off from Bhisiana Air Station near Bathinda at around 8.15 am.

Barely 15 minutes later the pilot detected a snag in the engine and reported about it to the Bhisiana station. As the engine stopped working in mid-air, the pilot had to crash land in the fields.

When the aircraft fell, farmers and field workers working in the nearby fields rushed to the site and helped the pilot, who was reportedly in a state of shock.

About 10 minutes after that a helicopter of the air force reached the site and air lifted the pilot to air force hospital at Bhisiana, sources said.

Air Force officials were reluctant to talk about the incident. However, according to sources the pilot did not receive any serious injuries.
