A 25-year-old aspiring model allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his rented house in Kotla Mubarakpur area in south Delhi on Monday morning. HT reports.

A 25-year-old aspiring model allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his rented house in Kotla Mubarakpur area in south Delhi on Monday morning.

The police suspected he was depressed, because he was not getting a break in his modelling career. According to a police officer, the incident was reported at around 11am from Ravi Das Basti in Kotla Mubarakpur.

Police said that the deceased, Sachin, who was from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging in the room by his two friends.

“His friends informed the police. They told us they had gone to meet Sachin. His door was bolted from inside and when Sachin did not respond they broke the door open and found him hanging in the room,” said an officer, requesting anonymity, as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

The victim was taken to AIIMS where the doctors declared him dead on arrival. The body was later sent for a post-mortem examination.
