Ban discusses 26/11 with Pranab

Mukherjee is understood to have apprised Ban how 10 heavily armed Pakistani terrorists came from Karachi via sea to Mumbai and struck terror there for three days from November 26 last year.

The Indian side is believed to have told Ban that India has concrete evidence to show that the attacks were planned in Pakistan and conducted by elements based in that country.

The dossier in this regard has already been given to Pakistan with an expectation that they would act against the perpetrators.

Mukherjee is understood to have impressed upon the UN chief that he should press Pakistan to cooperate in tracking down the culprits so that they could be brought to justice.

Ban, who is here for Sustainable Development Summit, also discussed situation in the region, particularly Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The UN Secretary General, on his second visit here since October last year, also met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and discussed regional situation.
