“Already around 15 vehicles have lost their tyres. They were trying to reverse on the lanes, which are designed for one-way traffic,” said a senior railway official. There is a board at the entry of the station, warning motorists about the barriers.

Now, after the “success of the barrier trick”, the plan is to install them across all the big stations in Delhi. “They will also help prevent the entry from exit gates, which is a common occurence,” said an official.
