In the presence of party chief Rajnath Singh and BJP’s Rajasthan state chief Vasundhara Raje, leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley read out CBI documents pertaining to Shah, citing a sentence referring to “potential in respect of the chief minister too”.

He recalled that though the CBI had chargesheeted Shah and “prejudicial matter was released to the media”, it turned out to be a case of “negligible or no evidence” in the court. “The bail granted to Amit Shah was confirmed right till the Supreme Court,” Jaitley added.

He also hit out at CBI for filing a supplementary chargesheet, as media reported, naming leader of the opposition in the assembly Kataria as a conspirator in the Sohrabuddin case.
