BJP core group meets, to discuss K'taka crisis
The BJP core group is meeting in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the political situation in the party-ruled Karnataka where former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has once again raised the flag of revolt.
Yeddyurappa, who has been facing a CBI inquiry in the illegal mining case, has reportedly demanded that current chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda be removed and rural development and panchayati raj minister Jagdish Shettar be given the post.
"The BJP core group is meeting at party president Nitin Gadkari's residence," a senior BJP national office-bearer said.
He added that besides Karnataka, other political issues will also be discussed in the meeting.
