While the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) has expelled four of its functionaries for six years, the BJP — the ruling party in the MCD House — has suspended seven members, including four sitting councillors, for indiscipline.

The expelled Congress functionaries include Chhawla Congress committee president Satindra Rana, DPCC secretaries Kaptan Singh and Sunil Vashishtha and Ramesh Pehalwan, who had unsuccessfully contested 2007 municipal poll from Kotla Mubarakpur.

“We are trying to talk to disgruntled party workers. Since these four are contesting elections, we expelled them,” said DPCC president JP Aggarwal. The BJP on Friday suspended seven party members, four of them sitting councillors for ‘indiscipline’.

The councillors are Rajesh Gaur, Balbir Tyagi, Urmila Gangawal and Mahender Kaur Narula. Other party workers who are suspended for six years are Kailash Gangawal, Satish Tehlan and Balwinder Sharma.
