BJP MLA held for casteist remarks
BJP MLA Kulwant Rana was on Monday arrested after a court directed he be taken into custody in connection with a case registered against him for allegedly making casteist remarks against a party worker.

BJP MLA Kulwant Rana was on Monday arrested after a court directed he be taken into custody in connection with a case registered against him for allegedly making casteist remarks against a party worker.
Rana, MLA from Rithala constituency, has been chargesheeted under the Scheduled Castes and Schedules Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act) and was taken into custody after he surrendered before Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau.
He had moved an anticipatory bail after his surrender, which was rejected by the court saying the nature of offence was serious. A case against Rana was lodged on a complaint by 53-year-old Karan Singh, who is a member of BJP's Kisaan Morcha and also a property dealer.
