BJP not satisfied with Rathore's sentence
BJP today said it was not satisfied with the one-and-a-half year jail term handed down to SPS Rathore in the Ruchika molestation case.
BJP on Tuesday said it was not satisfied with the one-and-a-half year jail term handed down to SPS Rathore in the Ruchika molestation case and demanded that the Haryana government appeal in a higher court to get the tainted former state DGP a stronger punishment.

"The punishment given to Rathore is not adequate. He had harassed the innocent girl and misused his powers to torture her family and deserves a stronger punishment," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
Rathore was sentenced by a Chandigarh sessions court on Tuesday to one and a half years in prison for molesting Ruchika 20 years ago. The 14-year-old girl had committed suicide three years after the incident.
"The Haryana government should go to a higher court so that he is given punishment which would deter other cops from doing such an act," Prasad said.
The CBI and Ruchika's family had filed a case against the 68-year old former Haryana DGP, seeking enhancement of a six-month rigorous imprisonment order and had sought a two-year imprisonment for him.
