BJP wants discoms to return Rs 6,000 crore to public

The BJP has demanded that the private power distributing utilities in Delhi must refund Delhi's consumers Rs 6,000 crore on account of power tariff not decreased in the last one year as, the party claims, was decided by the power regulator a year ago.

In a joint statement, Delhi BJP president and the capital's leader of opposition demanded that the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission should pass an order to this effect. The leaders said that consumers were not getting the benefits of privatisation which were agreed upon earlier, due to connivance between government and power discoms.
