BJP will support law to overturn SC order

The BJP said on Tuesday that if the government would come out with a suitable legislative instrument to overturn the Supreme Court’s 1996 order that the Bhopal gas leak accused be tried under a lighter offence, the party would back it.

“The ’96 Supreme Court order was deeply regrettable,” said BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad. He said the government should try all options, including further enquiry and appeal to provide justice.
