Businessman shot, robbed of Rs 8 lakh

A 30-year-old businessman, dealing in iron and steel business at Ghaziabad, was shot and robbed of Rs 8 lakh in cash by three motorbike-borne men, the police said on Monday.

A 30-year-old businessman, dealing in iron and steel business at Ghaziabad, was shot and robbed of Rs 8 lakh in cash by three motorbike-borne men, the police said on Monday.

Romit Jain (30), was travelling back to his business establishment along with his employee Rahul Chauhan after withdrawing Rs 8 lakh from a bank at Ambedkar Road area in the city at around 5pm.

“While they were travelling through the posh locality of Nehru Nagar, their bike was intercepted by the robbers who threw chilly powder to make the two men helpless,” said SSP Raghubir Lal.
