CBI likely to file another chargesheet in CWG scam

Paving the way for the filing of a chargesheet, the CBI has received from the UK a reply to its judicial request sent in a Commonwealth Games scam case related to alleged cost inflation in laying down turfs for the lawn ball event.

Paving the way for the filing of a chargesheet, the CBI has received from the UK a reply to its judicial request sent in a Commonwealth Games scam case related to alleged cost inflation in laying down turfs for the lawn ball event.

CBI sources said British authorities have sent an execution report of the Letters Rogatory which would be used as evidence to buttress the case of the agency. The probe agency has alleged that the cost of laying of synthetic turf was inflated many times. The agency had sought details of material which were transported here for laying the artificial turf.

The CBI has alleged that CPWD and DDA officials in collusion with private company Jubilee Sports Pvt Ltd, which had got the contract, had inflated the cost of synthetic grass and its transportation.
