Home Minister P Chidambaram made a surprise visit to the Main Press Centre of the Commonwealth Games at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday.

Chidambaram made a brief survey of the MPC which is being run by the Press Information Bureau and is projected as the largest press centre in the history of the Games.
The Home Minister, however, didn't interact with the scribes present there.
Chidambaram was accompanied by a few security staff and some other officials connected with the MPC which is spread over 6,700 square metres and is capable of catering to the needs of 2,000 journalists.
