"Except the parents, no one can look after the welfare of the child and needless to say that a child has a fundamental right to get education," Additional Sessions Judge Pawan Kumar Jain said while granting bail to Sonika Chopra, the wife of property dealer 'Judge' Chawla.

The court freed Sonika on bail for 2 weeks on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 and a surety of the same amount.

Sonika was arrested in February 2010 allegedly for threatening witnesses in over a dozen criminal cases, including those of property frauds involving sale of non-existent properties to investors and money laundering, registered against her husband who was arrested in November 2009.
