“They stopped me at the security check, opened my bag and frisked me over and over again. When I resisted, they shouted and said my country was inflicting terror on Tibet. They then caught me and beat me up. I was badly bruised although I tried to defend myself,” victim Ailian Bai said.

A case of hurt and wrongful restraint was registered on Wednesday after the victim lodged a complaint.

Ailian has been living in Civil Lines in north Delhi for the past five years. She said the incident occurred when she had entered the Mandi House metro station to board a train on Monday night.

Police said when the victim entered the Metro station, she was asked to undergo frisking by the Central Industrial Security Staff (CISF). Police said Ailian, who is trained in martial arts, attacked in self-defence and injured a CISF constable.

One of the CISF men called up the police control room (PCR) and said a woman was abusing them. “We reached the spot and took the lady to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for medical examination. But she went away without lodging a complaint. On Wednesday, she came to the police station and gave a formal complaint. We registered a case of hurt and wrongful restraint after that. The medical examination proved she had been physically assaulted,” said a senior police officer.

Security inside all the Metro Stations is handled by the CISF. Despite repeated attempts, the CISF spokesman could not be reached for comments.
