Wednesday’s rains sent the mercury tumbling down a few notches. “The occasional spells of rains will continue during the next few days. One or two spells are likely to be heavy,” said the duty officer at the Met office. He added 13.2 mm of rainfall was recorded on Wednesday.

The minimum temperature was 26.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum settled at 33.6 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman has predicted cloudy skies during the day, with occasional spells of rains or thundershowers. “We are expecting the temperature to fall further,” he added.

The monsoon hit the Capital on June 28, a day ahead of schedule, though there was a lull in between. The monsoon activity, however, revived and the city has experienced rainfall since Monday night.
