The school has now changed its undertaking and is not asking parents for proof of ownership anymore. Under the earlier process, parents who filled up the forms were asked to file an undertaking to verify that they were in ownership of the house they were residing in.

This information was not available upfront on the school website. Only when a parent filled up the form did the condition appear.

"We state that we are in occupation of house no (address) as owner (proof of ownership enclosed) and/or my spouse is the owner of the same," the second point in the undertaking had said. It filters out all those parents who live in rented accommodation or government accommodation despite having valid residential proof such as passport or voter IDs.

The new undertaking now says, "We state that we are residing at (address). (Address proof enclosed)." A large number of parents had complained against the previous undertaking.
