She also asked the PWD to get pothole repairing machines to fix them.

In a meeting attended by PWD minister Rajkumar Chauhan and senior officers, Dikshit said the engineers concerned should visit the area in their jurisdiction at least once a week “to personally assess the deficiencies in maintenance and take up the repair and restoration work”.

Dikshit asked the department to complete the repair and restoration by March this year.

“Streetlights are not 100% functional. Dirt has collected on the sides of flyovers. Construction debris has accumulated on several roads. We are aspiring to become a world-class and heritage city ,” Dikshit said.

The government also proposed to set up a panel of officers to coordinate road-digging and repair, which is carried out by various agencies.
