CNG prices hiked by a steep Rs 3.70 per kg in Delhi

Prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) have been hiked by R3.70 per kg and those of piped natural gas (PNG) by R3 per scm in Delhi.
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) also announced the revision in the prices of CNG and PNG in the NCR towns of Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad due to recent weakening of rupee vis-à-vis dollar.
CNG would be dearer by Rs 4.20 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
CNG will now be sold at Rs 45.60 per kg in Delhi and at Rs 51.55 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida & Ghaziabad.
The hiked prices would be effective from 12 midnight of 7th/8th September.
There are about seven lakh CNG-run vehicles, including private cars and public transport in Delhi.
The new consumer price of PNG to the households in Delhi has been revised from Rs 24.50 per scm to Rs 27.50 per scm up to a consumption of 30 scm in two months with effect from September 8.
Beyond the consumption limit of 30 scm in two months, the applicable rate in the national Capital would be Rs 47.50 per scm.
Due to differential tax structure in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the applicable price of domestic PNG to households in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad would be Rs 29 per scm up to consumption of 30 scm in two months.
Earlier the price for this limit was R26 per scm. Beyond the set consumption limit, the applicable rate would be Rs 49.70 per scm in these NCR towns.
