Cold over, for now, outlook is sunny for the Capital

The national Capital witnessed a warm and sunny day on Saturday with the maximum temperature being recorded as 25.2 degrees, five degrees above normal.

The minimum temperature was recorded as 7.7 degrees, normal for this time of the year.

Friday, too, was warm and the maximum temperature in the city settled at two notches above average at 22.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at an average at 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Delhiites also got some respite from the chilled winds which had been blowing in the city continually for the last two weeks.

The sudden warm temperatures come after two weeks of bone-chilling cold that saw the city experiencing a maximum temperature of 9.8 degrees, which was the lowest in 44 years.

The minimum temperatures also remained below 5 degrees Celsius for a good part of those two weeks, making the city colder than even hill stations on certain days.

"The weather is just freakish this year. It is suddenly very warm after days of severe cold," said Anuj Khanna, a college student.

According to the weatherman, the weather will be warm on Sunday as well. The temperature is expected to be between 24 and 8 degrees.

It is, however, not time to pack up the woolens.

The weatherman has forecast the temperatures to dip by a couple of degrees because of an incoming western disturbance in the coming week.

Taking advantage of comfortable weather conditions, Delhiites came out in huge numbers to visit markets and parks.
