Conductor found hanging inside bus

A 24-year-old conductor was found hanging inside a tourist bus in north-west Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Place area on Thursday morning. The police said it was a case of suicide.

The incident came to light around 6 am after the driver of bus found the conductor hanging from the hand bar inside the bus and made a call to the police control room. The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, a native of Kanpur in U.P.

A senior police officer said the driver of the bus parked the vehicle in Netaji Subhash Place area on Wednesday night and went home. Kumar stayed back in the bus to guard it and he was fine when the driver left for his home, police said.

“We have sent the body for post-mortem examination. The family members of Kumar have been informed about the incident and they are likely to arrive in the city by Friday morning. We are questioning the bus driver and friends of Kumar to ascertain if he was in depression,” said the senior officer.
