Cong says court order proves Bhatta-Parsaul 'atrocities'

Congress on Monday hailed a UP court decision dismissing a petition against filing of rape case against 16 policemen in a Bhatta-Parsaul incident, claiming that it proved that Mayawati-run administration had "committed atrocities" and demanded stern action against the guilty.

Congress on Monday hailed a UP court decision dismissing a petition against filing of rape case against 16 policemen in a Bhatta-Parsaul incident, claiming that it proved that Mayawati-run administration had "committed atrocities" and demanded stern action against the guilty.

"I thank the honourable court. It has done justice. It showed that the UP Government had committed atrocities. The court's order is to file FIR against those who had ill treated women. The National Commission for Women had also spoke about it," party general secretary Digvijay Singh said.

Now the chief minister should take cognisance. She should realise that to whom she had given protection have now been exposed. We hope that there will be stern action against those guilty and they will be suspended," he said.
