A city court has criticised the Delhi police for falsely implicating the victim and called its investigation in to a road mishap case unprofessional.

Allowing the appeal of Ravinder Singh, Additional Sessions Judge Vikas Dhull pulled up the police saying, " I would like to observe regarding the investigation which has been done by the investigating officer in the most unprofessional manner. This court fails to comprehend as to on what basis the IO has charge sheeted the revisionist (Ravinder Singh) in this case."

The court made the observation while adjudicating Singh's plea against a magisterial order which had framed charges of rash and negligent driving against him in road mishap case of July 1, 2009.

The court made the remarks taking into account the statements of injured persons, who were in the tempo.

While Ravinder Singh, whose car was damaged when he was driving in the correct lane was made an accused, the tempo driver Sanoj, who hit the victim's car, was not made the accused, the court said.

The court dropped the proceedings against Singh as he was driving in his own lane and it was Sanoj who had entered the wrong lane saying, "The statements of injured Ram Kripal and Mohammed Illyas point towards the culpability of the tempo driver in causing the accident by driving it in the wrong carriage way."

Pulling up the IO, the court said, "But the IO of this case, for the reasons best known to him, charge sheeted Singh instead of the tempo driver for driving in rash and negligent manner."
