It is unlikely that the party will go for any major disciplinary action against the leader even as the issue will come up for discussion at the two-day central committee meeting, beginning in New Delhi on Saturday.

VS is taking a "moralistic and correct" stand when the state unit is in a spot of bother over a series of issues, including the murder of an ex-CPM leader who had left the party to form a new outfit. Though the state unit said it has no role in Chandrashekharan’s murder, many party workers have been arrested for their alleged role.
