A senior Indian Police Service officer had deceived Lotika Sarkar, a former Delhi University professor of Law Faculty.

Last week, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Delhi Police seeking a status report in the case.

Sarkar had moved a petition accusing Nirmal Dhoundial, an IG rank officer of Bihar cadre, of grabbing her property through a gift deed secured through deception in 2007.

The Commissioner of Police Y.S. Dadwal has asked the joint commissioner and additional commissioner of police of Crime Branch to monitor the investigation on a daily basis.
