Crucial SC hearings on CVC, black money & Shah's bail tomorrow
All eyes will be on the Supreme Court on Friday which will hold crucial hearings on the fate of controversial CVC P J Thomas, the issue of black money stashed in foreign banks and bail of former Gujarat minister Amit Shah.
The three high stake politically sensitive matters assume importance as the apex court has asked government to answer several searching questions on the appointment of Thomas as CVC while he was facing corruption charges in Kerala and its reluctance to disclose the names of the Indians who have deposited black money in banks abroad.
The CBI also faces an uphill task to convince the apex court to cancel the bail granted by the Gujarat high court to Shah, who has been chargesheeted in the Soharabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.
The hearing on the issue of black money will take place in the backdrop of the stand of the government which has ruled out disclosure of names of such account holders despite the apex court pulling up the Centre for its position of not making the names public.
The government has also stuck to its stand on the issue of CVC leaving it for the apex court to decide the fate of Thomas whose continuance in the top post was questioned by the judges earlier.

Mumbai A man, who was earlier convicted for the murder of Naresh Pawar's mother, has successfully managed to change his conviction to culpable homicide. The reason- the Bombay high court (HC) was informed that it was not a premeditated attack. The incident took place in March 2011. Naresh Pawar and his mother Ekabai worked in a brick kiln in Niljepada village, Kalyan. When they checked on the mother, they realised that she was already dead.

Three of Agra family die in “suicide pact”, financial stress possible reason
Three members of a family, including a couple and their 8-year-old daughter, were found dead inside their house at Awas Vikas Colony within limits of Sikandra police station of Agra on Wednesday morning, police said. “The bodies of 35-year-old man along with his 30-year-old wife and daughter were found hanging inside a room at the house. A suicide note was found from the house that contained emotional statements,” said SSP Agra Prabhakar Chaudhary.

After Ladakh, Karnataka MLAs embark on trip to Delhi, Gujarat
