Cut-offs up for students with disabilities as well

In line with the high cut-offs this year, the figures for students with disability have also shot up by as much as 21 percentage points.

According to Delhi University officials, this hike is mostly in courses such as BA History and BA Political Science (hons), which are popular among the students.

For History (hons), cut-off has risen from 68% to 89% at the College of Vocational Studies. The biggest cut-off jump for Political Science was at Kirori Mal College - 13 percentage points from 82% to 95%. The cut-off is up by 14 percentage points for English (hons) at both Kalindi College (from 68 to 82%) and at PGDAV College (from 62 to 76).

“This increase could be because the students with disabilities have also done pretty well in their board exams,” said Bipin Kumar Tewary, officer on special duty (OSD) at DU’s Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC).

However, contrary to the general trend, most North Campus colleges haven’t increased their cut-offs for these students. It is mostly the off campus colleges whice have substantially increased the cut-off for these students.

“There is no need for students to worry as there would be seven consecutive lists,” said Anil Aneja, OSD at EOC.

Meanwhile, the cut-offs for Science courses have remained the same or lower than last year.
