DDA housing lottery result declared

The much-awaited draw of lots to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Housing Scheme 2008 – under which 5,010 flats are up for sale – is underway.

Of the 12.64 lakh application forms which were sold, 5,60,000 forms were found eligible for inclusion in the lottery by DDA.

This means that for each of the 5,010 flats there will be roughly about 100 applicants.

Neemo Dhar, DDA spokesperson said that because of shortage of space, the agency would not allow general public to witness the draw.

The DDA will, however, upload the list of successful allottees on its website www.dda.org.in by 3 p.m.

“We have formed a panel of judges comprising of non-DDA officials to conduct draw of lots. The entire list of allottees would be uploaded by 3 pm. The list will also appear in all national newspapers on Wednesday,” said Dhar.

DDA had launched the Housing Scheme on August 6 this year.

The scheme offered 5,010 ready to move flats priced between Rs 7.95 lakh and Rs 11.90 lakh in areas like Rohini, Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Paschim Vihar, Pitampura, Motia Khan, Dilshad Garden, Narela, Shalimar Bagh, Jhilmil, East of Loni Road, Nand Nagari, Peeragarhi, Sarai Khalil, Lok Nayak Puram, Bindapur and Zafrabad.

According to DDA’s official schedule, the agency had planned to hold the draw of lot before December 15. The process was delayed because of Delhi assembly elections.
