Last week, the DDA had appointed M/s Architects Bureau as consultants for designing competition and training venues. The DDA has the mandate to develop the competition venue for archery and table tennis at the cricket ground in Yamuna Sports Complex and a competition venue for badminton and squash at Siri Fort Sports Complex.

Besides the training venues for Aquatics, Tennis, Lawn Bowls, Archery, Badminton, Squash and Gymnastics at Yamuna Sports Complex, Siri Fort Sports Complex and Saket Sports Complex will have to be refurbished. The consultants will not only prepare the design plans for the Games village and competition venues, but also be required to get design plans approved by the Delhi Urban Art Commission. The DDA is yet to get the Environment Ministry’s clearance for the Siri Fort Sports Complex.
