Pankaj Jain, representing ward number 121 in Nangoli area, asked MCD inspector Ramesh Kumar, who was spraying insecticide in an adjacent ward, to do the same in his area. Kumar refused, saying he did not have permission to do so.

According to MCD sources, Jain then turned violent and thrashed Kumar, who suffered injuries on head, face and back.

Police said they registered a case against Jain and he would be arrested shortly.
